Global Transportation Specialist
About this role
GE Aerospace is hiring a Global Transportation Specialist, full-time, on-site in 3 Locations, in the Aerospace sector.
Job Description Summary
As a member of the Global Transportation team, you will be part of an international organization that drives GE Aerospace’s transportation and logistics execution across a complex global supply chain. This role supports the business’s Clear to Build strategy by ensuring material flows reliably to meet engine build and delivery requirements. The position will report into the Inbound Control Tower, the team responsible for enabling Clear to Build through disciplined transportation execution, issue resolution, and cross-functional coordination.
This is a high-intensity, high-volume execution role with primary focus on international and domestic inbound routes into the United States, while supporting a broader global portfolio. Success in this role requires the ability to receive overnight handoffs, assess priorities quickly, structure the day, and drive actions to closure in a dynamic environment.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on logistics experience, strong judgment, a bias for action, and the communication skills to engage stakeholders across transportation, customs, operations, suppliers, and internal customers. While process improvement is an important part of the role, the core need is consistent operational execution.
Preferred location: Ohio or Kentucky. Candidates located across the Eastern Time Zone may also be considered.

- Manage a high volume of transportation activity and escalations, ensuring urgent issues are addressed with speed, accuracy, and discipline.

- Serve as a transportation escalation point for execution issues affecting material availability, build readiness, and supply chain flow.
- Develop practical logistics solutions to meet urgent or non-standard transportation requirements within a complex regional and global network.
- Maintain a working knowledge of customs-related requirements for international shipments, partnering with customs and transportation teams to support compliant, efficient movement and minimize delays.
- Coordinate closely with transportation providers, internal sourcing and fulfilment teams, and receiving facilities to maintain flow, resolve exceptions, and protect build readiness.
- Partner closely with the Clear to Launch team to ensure alignment across inbound and outbound priorities, handoffs, escalation management, and end-to-end transportation execution.
- Use supplier performance metrics, operational data, and transportation visibility tools to identify execution gaps and support improvements in cycle time, service, quality, and premium transportation performance.
- Support process improvement initiatives while maintaining a strong day-to-day focus on execution, responsiveness, and service continuity.
- Use AI, analytics, digital tools, and automation to improve decision making, transportation visibility, process discipline, data quality, continuous improvement, and cost performance.
- Contribute to transportation quality and supplier performance improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues, supporting root cause analysis, and helping implement corrective actions.
- Champion compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies and procedures, and EHS expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum 4 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or material flow, including hands-on responsibility for transportation planning and operational execution across international and domestic shipment flows)
