Summary
The Planning Coordinator works with the Sales & Commercial groups, Operations, external vendors and customers to execute sales orders and ensure efficient delivery by handling requests for quotes, collections of sales orders, planning and scheduling of sales order execution and coordinating logistics and resources.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
Interacts with existing and potential customers to facilitate quote requests and sales orders
Supports internal stakeholders, including commercial, repair and GMO teams on project planning
Confirms and processes incoming sales orders from commercial group and customer portals
Communicates delivery windows with shops and external customers and/or locations
Implements orders into production schedule based on requested delivery, including scheduling trucks and railcars with local shops as needed
Provides support on order delays, including recovery or alternate options, and adjust deliveries as required.
Maintains and processes accurate core transactions and reports to customers on core inventory levels
Generates reports for management and production use and support in physical inventory counts
Works with billing groups as needed to ensure timely collection of sales orders
Provides support for CID requests or other customer inquiries
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Ability to work both alone and in a team environment
Ability to document records accurately under tight timeframes
Ability to solve problems and report information in a timely manner
Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Dynamics and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Two years + experience within Customer Service and material tracking in a manufacturing environment
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Work Environment
The physical environment requires the employee to work in hot and cold environments, in and out of the weather, work safely around heavy equipment and on top of and under railcars, as well as around railroad tracks. Employees are required to use personal protective equipment such as steel toe boots, hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, welding and grinding shields, etc. or as environmental conditions dictate.
