Alstom has secured a 15-year extension to our Train Services Agreement (TSA) with Greater Anglia, reinforcing a successful long-term

Alstom Rail Partnership October 15, 2026

partnership focused on reliability, performance and passenger experience.

The contract, valued at approximately £800 million, will see us continue maintaining Greater Anglia's fleet of 133 Class 720 Aventra electric multiple units at Seven Kings Depot into the early 2040s.

Built at our Derby Litchurch Lane Works, the Class 720 fleet has established itself as one of the UK's most reliable modern commuter fleets.

The TSA supports around 100 roles and demonstrates the value of long-term collaboration between manufacturers, operators and rolling stock owners in delivering excellent outcomes for passengers, communities and taxpayers.

Thank you to our colleagues, Greater Anglia and Angel Trains for their continued partnership.

Why this matters for talent

A 15-year rail services agreement extension locks in long-term maintenance and operations work, which is the kind of contract that supports steady field service hiring rather than a hiring spike. Alstom carries 112 open roles, and a franchise extension of this length is a useful data point for candidates weighing job security at a rail supplier.
