Safe. On time. And under budget
Say hello to our newest maintenance facility in Seattle!
For decades, people have talked about what it would take to modernize passenger rail in America.
Today, we are doing it and this project is proof.
The Seattle Maintenance Facility is the first facility built to service our new Airo fleet–with more to come across the country.
Thank you to our partners at Federal Railroad Administration, Washington State Department of Transportation and Oregon Department of Transportation for supporting Amtrak's new era of rail.
Why this matters for talent
A new Seattle maintenance facility built for the Airo fleet, with more to come, is a concrete hiring indicator. New fleets and new shops mean mechanics, electricians, supervisors and facility leaders, and those jobs stay local. Amtrak has more than 100 open roles on the board. Skilled trades people in the markets next in line should watch closely.
