Yesterday, we joined PennDOT and our partners in Johnstown, Pa., to celebrate a major milestone for passenger rail in Pennsylvania: the
launch of a second daily Pennsylvanian round trip beginning Nov. 18.
We're thankful to PennDOT for its continued investment and partnership in expanding rail service and improving connectivity across the Commonwealth. Customers will soon have more travel options between New York, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Johnstown, and Pittsburgh.
Tickets are on sale now at Amtrak.com and through the Amtrak app.

Why this matters for talent
A second daily round trip on the Pennsylvanian route is a concrete service expansion, not a plan. Amtrak lists 126 openings on the jobs board, and added train service generally requires crew, maintenance, and station staffing increases to support it. Candidates interested in passenger rail operations should note the Pennsylvania corridor specifically.
