MMX is on its way to Mars

Blue Origin Aerospace Update October 19, 2026

Congratulations to JAXA, NASA, and the full international team behind the Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) mission. We’re proud that our Pneumatic Sampler, or P-Sampler, is aboard this ambitious mission to study Phobos and Deimos. Once MMX reaches Phobos, the P-Sampler will collect surface material using high-pressure, ultra-pure nitrogen gas. Mounted on one of the MMX lander’s four legs, the P-Sampler is designed to complete sampling in a matter of seconds. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4eHejFL

Why this matters for talent

Blue Origin's Pneumatic Sampler flying aboard the JAXA and NASA MMX mission to Mars's moons is a genuine program milestone showing the breadth of planetary science hardware work the company does beyond its launch business. Blue Origin carries more than 1600 open roles on the board, and this kind of cross program hardware work is relevant context for mechanical and sampling systems engineers evaluating the company.
