πŸš€ First Light! Meet the newest additions to our SAR constellation

Capella Space Aerospace Product November 3, 2026

Following their successful launch aboard SpaceX's Bandwagon-5 mission on October 20, our C-21 (Acadia-11) and C-22 (Acadia-12) satellites have completed commissioning and are now available for commercial operations!

These two new satellites expand our constellation capacity and advance our bistatic SAR and interferometric SAR (InSAR) capabilities, enabling new opportunities for high-resolution Earth observation and change detection.

And we're not just expanding capacity. We're delivering data faster, too! With 93% of SAR collects now delivered in under three hours, we're continuing to improve how quickly customers can access the intelligence they need.

Why this matters for talent

Two new satellites in commercial operation is real progress, but the bigger career note is at the bottom of the post: Capella is now part of IonQ. Acquisitions change reporting lines, priorities and sometimes where the roles sit. If you are talking to Capella, ask how the IonQ ownership affects the team and the roadmap. Space systems and SAR experience stays valuable either way.
