Today, we are proud to welcome Rachel Oberc as the leader of our Space, Cyber & Intelligence Systems business!

General Dynamics Mission Systems Defense Hiring Signal November 3, 2026

Rachel joined General Dynamics Mission Systems as a photonics engineer and most recently served as Vice President of Network and Communication Systems within our Land and Air Systems portfolio where she drove major program wins and strengthened our position in next-generation command and control and tactical communications.

Today’s transition is also a homecoming: Rachel spent her earlier career within the Space, Cyber & Intelligence business crossing both engineering and business leadership. Her technical depth, operational discipline, and commitment to our customers ensure seamless momentum for our products and programs as she succeeds Amy Johnson.

Please join us in congratulating Rachel on this well-earned promotion!

Why this matters for talent

An internal promotion to lead a major business is a real career signal: Rachel Oberc started as a photonics engineer and moved up through program and business leadership. General Dynamics Mission Systems is showing that a technical path can lead to running a portfolio. It has more than 600 open roles on the board. Engineers looking at defense primes should ask how often moves like this actually happen.
