Another big day for Utah’s AAM future. Today we continued our uFly initiative with a stop from Joby’s supervised autonomous J208 aircraft
as part of their Electric Skies tour across the country.
From live feeds of their remote operations center and aircraft on UDOT’s AAM command vehicles to hands‑on time with the S4 simulator, the energy and excitement were undeniable. Joby’s team put together an incredible experience, and I’m grateful for their partnership.
Huge thanks to the Joby team for their hard work, and to my incredible colleagues at UDOT, and to partners like X‑Factor and 47G plus the many other organizations and individuals who support and strengthen Utah's AAM ecosystem. Days like this are only possible because of the collective effort behind the scenes.
This is just the beginning. Utah is committed to advancing safe, innovative transportation solutions that Keep Utah Moving, and there is much more to come.
Why this matters for talent
Joby Aviation's supervised autonomous J208 aircraft made a stop in Utah as part of a cross country tour working with state transportation officials through an FAA pilot program. Multi state regulatory pilot programs like this one are usually staffed by a company's flight test and government affairs teams well before any production ramp, and Joby carries more than 150 open roles on the board. Worth watching their flight operations and regulatory affairs postings.
