Loft Orbital Delivers: First Satellite Supporting Two CNES Programs Now in Orbit - Loft Orbital
Earlier this year, Centre National d'Études Spatiales signed two contracts with Loft Orbital to deploy new sovereign capabilities in space. Now, just six months later, Altair-1 has reached orbit to execute on both contracts, demonstrating Loft's ability to rapidly deliver.
Altair simultaneously delivers the first milestone under MS-HR, France’s sovereign multi-sensor Earth observation constellation, and the first flight under CNES’s IOD/IOV program to develop new on-orbit capabilities as part of the France 2030 initiative.
The Altair constellation is assembled and tested in Abu Dhabi by Orbitworks, the joint venture with Loft Orbital and Marlan Space, and integrated into Loft’s mission infrastructure. We are also proud partners with Magellium to deliver faster access to actionable information to French institutional users under MS-HR.

Why this matters for talent
Delivering a satellite against two sovereign French contracts within six months signals that Loft Orbital's missions-as-a-service model is maturing into a repeatable production line, not a one-off technical feat. That kind of cadence usually pulls more systems integration and mission operations hiring behind it. Loft Orbital carries around 60 open roles on the jobs board right now.
