Principal Engineer, Pharma CMC Manufacturing & Tech Transfer

Varda Space Aerospace Update October 28, 2026

A few months ago I joined Varda Space Industries as VP of CMC. Varda is building in-orbit pharmaceutical processing and reentry capsule infrastructure, with a crystallization and drug product pipeline in development. I’m building the CMC function from the ground up.

That build-out starts with this role: Principal Engineer, Pharma CMC Manufacturing & Tech Transfer, owning CDMO selection, tech transfer, and GMP manufacturing oversight across our manufacturing network.

If you’ve led tech transfer or CDMO network management in biologics or high-concentration drug products, and want to help pioneer manufacturing in a genuinely new environment, I’d like to talk.

Why this matters for talent

A new VP of CMC posting for a Principal Engineer to own CDMO selection and tech transfer tells you Varda is building out the pharmaceutical manufacturing side of its business, not just the spacecraft side. This is a genuinely new discipline for a space company to staff. Varda Space carries over 110 open roles on the jobs board, a sign of how broadly the company is hiring beyond propulsion and avionics.
