Great to see Vertical Aerospace's Chief Engineer, David King, join our partner Bristow Group at the Royal Aeronautical Society for an
excellent discussion on the future of Advanced Air Mobility in the UK.
The discussion highlighted the growing range of AAM applications, extending well beyond airport transfers and inter-city passenger services. David made the case for sustained government support, a practical regulatory framework and greater public engagement as the sector moves closer to entry into service.
It was also great to hear from fellow aerospace innovators BETA TECHNOLOGIES and Electra.aero, alongside former UK Home Secretary Lord Blunkett , who spoke passionately about the potential for AAM to support public services - from connecting isolated communities to strengthening NHS logistics.
A useful reminder of the opportunity ahead for UK aviation, and the importance of bringing industry, government, regulators and operators together to make it happen. Thanks to Bristow and the Royal Aeronautical Society for bringing everyone together.
Why this matters for talent
Vertical's Chief Engineer making the case publicly for sustained government support and a practical regulatory framework is a reminder that eVTOL certification timelines depend as much on policy work as on engineering. Companies at this stage often need policy and government affairs talent as much as flight test engineers. Vertical Aerospace carries 10 open roles on the jobs board.
