About this role

Anduril Industries is hiring a Senior Strategic Finance Manager, Maneuver Dominance, full-time, on-site in Costa Mesa, California, United States, in the Aerospace sector.

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril’s Maneuver Dominance (MD) business delivers platforms, systems, and integrated effects in the Group 3/4/5 aviation domains. Our autonomous vehicles are the cornerstone of these capabilities, and we continually strive to push the boundaries of the possible in terms of endurance, autonomy and mission capability. The MD team develops and maintains core products and payloads, and adapts and applies those products to serve a wide variety of defense, IC and commercial customers in US and international markets.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking a Senior Strategic Finance Manager to own strategic finance for the Maneuver Dominance division. Reporting to the MD Head of Finance, you will lead the analysis behind MD’s most important decisions — a deep, relentless modeler who lives and breathes in Excel and can take an ambiguous strategic question and build the model that answers it. You will own the full portfolio of strategic finance initiatives across the division: sizing new investments, pressure-testing business cases, running complex scenarios, and tracking the returns on MD’s strategic bets and high-IRAD investments.

This is both a hands-on modeling role and a leadership one — you will start with one direct report and build out the strategic finance function as the division scales. You’ll partner with business line leaders to translate strategy into numbers, building the models, frameworks, and analyses that shape where MD invests and how it grows. The ideal candidate comes from a background where modeling is a craft — investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or corporate development — and is energized by hard quantitative problems, high stakes, and a fast-moving environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Ownership & Team Leadership

  • Own the strategic finance agenda for the division — setting priorities and driving all strategic finance initiatives end to end.
  • Lead and grow the strategic finance team, starting with one direct report, mentoring and scaling the function as MD grows.
  • Serve as the division’s go-to strategic finance partner for senior leaders and business line owners.

Strategic Analysis & Modeling

  • Build and own sophisticated financial models to evaluate strategic initiatives, new programs, and capital investments from the ground up.
  • Run complex, multi-variable scenario and sensitivity analyses to frame decisions and quantify risk, upside, and trade-offs.
  • Develop business cases and investment theses for major bets, translating ambiguous strategic questions into rigorous, defensible analysis.

Investment & Portfolio Tracking

  • Track and report on the performance of MD’s strategic bets and high-IRAD investments, measuring returns against the original thesis.
  • Partner with leadership on capital allocation — prioritizing investments and surfacing trade-offs across the portfolio.
  • Monitor program economics and unit costs, flagging where returns are diverging from plan.

Long-Range Planning & Decision Support

  • Support long-range planning and strategic forecasting, connecting top-down strategy to bottoms-up financials.
  • Partner with business line leaders on their highest-priority strategic and financial questions, bringing the analytical firepower to answer them.
  • Build the frameworks and dashboards that make investment performance and strategic progress visible to leadership.

Communication & Influence

  • Translate complex models and analyses into clear, executive-ready narratives and recommendations.
  • Present findings to senior leadership, driving alignment on strategic and investment decisions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field; MBA a plus.
  • 6+ years in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate development, or strategic finance, with a heavy modeling focus.
  • Elite financial modeling skills — fluent in Excel and able to build complex, dynamic models from a blank sheet.
  • Deep experience running scenario, sensitivity, and valuation analyses (DCF, NPV/IRR, and returns analysis).
  • Proven ability to independently own and drive high-stakes strategic initiatives end to end.
  • Experience leading or mentoring analysts, with the readiness to manage and grow a team.
  • Strong business judgment — able to turn ambiguous strategic questions into structured analysis and clear recommendations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to make complex analysis accessible to executives.
  • Exceptional PowerPoint skills for building executive-ready decks under tight timelines.
  • Intellectually curious, detail-obsessed, and energized by hard quantitative problems in a fast-moving environment.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in defense, aerospace, hardware, or another capital-intensive industry.
  • Exposure to R&D / IRAD investment analysis or technology and product investment decisions.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or BI tools for large-scale data analysis.
