We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that full-time employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions

About the role

Applied Intuition is looking for a Global People Compliance & ER Partner to run our employment compliance program and support case management for employee relations across the company. This is a senior individual contributor role to design what the program should be, not just execute it.

You’ll be the People team’s subject matter expert on compliance, keeping us compliant across every country and state we operate in. Most weeks the work is a known cycle — policies, audits, training, filings, and ER casework. Some weeks a new law lands or a situation doesn’t fit any existing process, and you’ll work out the answer and turn it into something repeatable. Some of this you’ll lead outright - on other work you’ll play a key supporting role in developing, implementing, or maintaining accountability.

At Applied Intuition, you will:

Employment Compliance Program Strategy

• Build the employment compliance framework and roadmap, spanning pre-boarding through offboarding

• Audit our practices against legal requirements in each country and state we operate in, identify where we’re exposed, and own the plan to close those gaps

• Define the recurring checks that prove we’re compliant - I-9 sampling, policy attestation, training completion, pay data validation - and the schedule for running them

• Define the metrics that make compliance health visible - risk register, audit closure, training effectiveness, ER case volume

Global Policy, Records, and Governance

• Own the employee handbook and other required employment policies and templates

• Write, maintain, and communicate updated policies; managing expectations and accountability measures of all involved.

• Build the policy governance model - version control, ownership, central location

• Use AI to improve how policy is delivered and maintained, while meeting regulatory governance and privacy requirements

• Partner with regional stakeholders on local policy, and with Legal and COEs on alignment to local law

• Run the employment records program alongside the HRIS team on data privacy and governance on employee data, files, retention schedules, access controls, etc…across jurisdictions (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, local law)

• Monitor legislative change globally and translate it into updated policy and process

• Drive compliance reporting: OFCCP, gender pay gap, time and attendance, work with in-country partners for country-specific obligations

• Own the background check program

• Own People Compliance Training through our LMS (Ethena) (i.e. sexual harassment)

Employee Relations

• Drive the work needed to create a framework of workplace investigations and centralize case management

• Maintain confidential case records and analyze trends to surface systemic issues

We're looking for someone who has:

• 6+ years in HR compliance, employee relations, People Operations, or employment law

• Strong California employment law expertise, plus multi-state experience

• Global experience across APAC, EMEA, and/or MENA preferred

• Professional experience in both startup and publicly traded companies

• Experience working with internal and external auditors

• Sound judgment on when to decide and when to escalate to Legal and leadership

• A process you’ve meaningfully improved - an audit, a filing, a training program that runs better because you owned it

• Comfort owning a program with minimal day-to-day direction

• Clear, precise writing - policies, investigation memos, employee communications

Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.

Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
