About this role

Archer Aviation is hiring a Equity Manager, full-time, on-site in San Jose, California, United States, in the eVTOL sector.

Headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, Archer is a leader in the next-gen aerospace sector building an end-to-end advanced air mobility platform that delivers air taxis, unmanned aircraft systems (“UAS”), aviation-related physical artificial intelligence (“AI”) solutions, and other technologies to customers worldwide across the commercial aerospace and defense sectors.

We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.

About the Team

The Total Rewards team partners across Archer to design and execute competitive, compliant compensation, benefits, and equity programs that attract, retain, and motivate world-class talent building the future of flight.

What You’ll Do

As the Equity Manager, you will own the day-to-day operation and strategic administration of Archer’s global equity compensation programs—ensuring accuracy, compliance, SOX controls, and employee engagement.

  • End-to-End Plan Administration: Manage grant approvals, vesting, releases, exercises, terminations, participant mobility tracking, and year-end tax reporting (IRC 6039) in compliance with plan terms.
  • Cross-Functional & Vendor Oversight: Partner with Legal, Finance, Payroll, Tax, and Accounting on Board materials, ASC 718 stock-based compensation, quarterly reconciliations, SOX compliance/audits, and equity platform/HRIS integrations.
  • Compliance & Mobility: Support Section 16 filings, trading windows
  • Employee Education & Advisory: Serve as the primary equity expert, creating clear communications and running educational sessions (onboarding, vesting, tax guidance) to make equity accessible to all employees.
  • Analytics & Program Modeling: Model equity usage, burn rate, dilution, and overhang to inform leadership decisions and improve program design as Archer scales.

What You Need

  • Experience: 8+ years of end-to-end stock plan administration experience across public (and ideally high-growth private) environments.
  • Technical & Platform Expertise: Hands-on experience with equity management platforms (e.g., Fidelity, Carta, Shareworks, E*TRADE Equity Edge) and HRIS/payroll integrations (e.g., Workday). Advanced Excel skills required; Modern tooling is a plus.
  • Compliance & Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of ASC 718, SOX controls, Section 1, participant mobility/taxation, and US/global equity structures.
  • Communication & Judgment: Exceptional attention to detail, discreet handling of confidential/material nonpublic information, and ability to explain complex equity concepts clearly.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Fidelity Platform experience
  • Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation.
  • Experience in high-growth aerospace, deep-tech, or defense sectors.
  • Experience with global equity programs (specifically EMEA).
  • Proven track record implementing equity platforms or automating administration workflows.
