About this role

Bedrock Robotics is hiring a Site Operations Manager, full-time, on-site in Lockhart, TX, in the INDUSTRIAL sector.

Join the team bringing advanced autonomy to the built world

At Bedrock, we're moving AI out of the lab and into the real world. Our team includes veterans who helped launch Waymo, scaled Segment to a $3.2B acquisition, and grew Uber Freight to $5B in revenue. Today, we're deploying autonomous systems on heavy construction equipment across the country, improving safety on job sites and accelerating schedules on critical infrastructure projects.

We're not here debating the future of AI. We're deploying it in the real world. In just two years, we've raised $350M and achieved the first fully autonomous excavator deployments in construction.

This is where algorithms meet steel-toed boots. You'll work alongside construction veterans and world-class engineers to solve physical-world problems that simulations can't touch. If you're ready to do meaningful work on hard problems, we'd love to have you join us.

About the Role

We are seeking a Site Operations Manager to lead the deployment and operation of autonomous construction technology on partner construction sites. This role is responsible for ensuring successful site launches, safe operational performance, and strong partner relationships from early planning through project completion.

This role goes beyond traditional site operations—it includes the end-to-end customer operational experience, including hands-on customer training to operate autonomous systems and ongoing operations throughout the lifecycle of the project.

The Site Operations Manager acts as the operational point of contact for the partner site project management, while coordinating closely with engineering, partnership, and operations teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality site operations.

What You’ll Do

Deployment & Site Operations

  • Contribute to early-stage site assessments and operational feasibility reviews.

  • Define work plans including scope and operational requirements.

  • Plan and execute deployments across multiple partner sites

  • Coordinate onsite launch readiness across engineering, fleet, and site teams

  • Lead onsite setup, workflow validation, and safety alignment

  • Own site launch and transition into steady-state operations

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure safe, reliable performance

  • Run regular operational check-ins with partners

  • Capture field insights to inform product, engineering and operational improvements

  • Manage project closeout, reporting, and post-deployment learnings

Customer Robot Operation Experience

  • Manage the customer lifecycle from launch through steady-state operations.

  • Lead structured training and support for new partners, ensuring alignment on workflows, expectations, safety and success criteria.

  • Translate complex robotic systems into clear, practical operating instructions.

  • Certify that partner site management and operators are fully trained and confident prior to and after launch.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to incorporate field learnings into training materials and workflows.

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with partner teams to drive long-term success and adoption.

What Success Looks Like

  • Safe, on-time deployment of autonomous operations

  • Customer teams independently operating robotic systems with confidence

  • Strong onboarding experience with fast time-to-productivity

  • High customer satisfaction driven by training, support, and engagement

  • Strong partner relationships and clear communication

  • Continuous improvement of partner training and deployment processes

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Experience managing operations in construction or industrial environments

  • Experience directing and coordinating heavy equipment operators and field crews

  • Ability to interpret site construction drawings, site maps, survey data, and grading plans to support earthwork operations

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with engineering and field teams

  • Excellent communication and partner management skills

  • Experience training customers and customer support in an operational setting

  • Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-changing environments

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices, with experience ensuring compliance in the field

  • Willingness to travel 50%+ and work from customer sites

Located in surrounding Austin area

Preferred

  • Background in autonomy, robotics, or advanced construction technology

  • Familiarity with construction tool Propeller Aero

  • Experience launching new operational programs or deployments

  • Experience building training programs, manuals, or playbooks

  • Familiarity with customer-facing tools or operational platforms

Why This Role Matters

This role is critical not just for deploying technology, but for ensuring customers can successfully adopt, operate, and scale it. Your ability to train, onboard, and support partner teams will directly determine deployment success and long-term growth.

We want our hiring process to be accessible to everyone. If you need an accommodation to participate in the application or interview process, please let your recruiter know so we can support you.
