Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!
This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.
We are collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to the pursuit of safe and repeatable spaceflight. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, engineers, and program managers, you will support the development of our space vehicles and help enable Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.
We are looking for a Financial Analyst III with strong analytical depth to support planning, forecasting, and decision support. You will turn operational and financial data into clear insights, identify the drivers behind performance, and help leaders understand what is changing, why it matters, and what action to take.
You are a hands-on problem solver who is comfortable working from source data through the final leadership narrative, acting as a finance business partner for your stakeholders. You build transparent models, reconcile discrepancies, test assumptions, and create repeatable analyses rather than one-time answers while partnering with program leadership to drive financial performance and programmatic decisions.
Ability to work full-time on-site in Renton, WA is required, and relocation assistance will be provided.
We're hiring across several business units at Blue Origin. By applying for this role, you'll be considered for opportunities on any of the following teams:
- Lunar Permanence - Builds the sustainable infrastructure required to transport crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface, including Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products.
- New Glenn - Blue Origin's orbital launch program, encompassing the vehicle, ground systems, manufacturing capability, supply chain, and launch operations needed to make reusable spaceflight routine.
- Central FP&A - Provides centralized corporate financial planning and analysis support across our business units, functions, and locations.
Financial Analyst Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budget and recurring forecast cycle for your business unit, coordinating inputs and timelines with cross-functional partners.
- Build and maintain financial models that translate operational drivers into P&L, headcount, and cash impact; pressure-test assumptions and keep the link between drivers and outputs transparent.
Management Reporting
- Support the monthly and quarterly close reporting cycle, preparing actual-vs-budget/forecast variance analysis and researching drivers with functional leaders.
- Contribute materials and analysis to monthly business and financial reviews, including forward-looking risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
- Generate insight, not just reports: build dashboards, visualizations, and analyses that close gaps in the team's understanding of financial performance; design for reuse and stakeholder self-service.
Standardization & Automation
- Help standardize programmatic and financial metrics across the business unit, including early indicators of performance issues.
- Apply AI tooling to automate recurring analysis and accelerate ad-hoc deliverables, with documented controls, human-in-the-loop review, and validation appropriate to a high-accuracy financial environment.
Partnering
- Serve as a trusted business partner to program teams, proactively ensuring teams operate within financial constraints and invest capital wisely.
- Build strong working relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders, managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related analytical field.
- 5+ years demonstrating performance in roles that include business planning, analyzing performance, and reporting insights to senior leadership levels.
- Working SQL fluency: able to write your own queries against a modern data platform (Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent) without waiting on data engineering for routine pulls.
- Expert-level proficiency in your analytics tool of choice (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent) for building dashboards and analyses stakeholders use.
- Strong skills in running meetings and preparing executive-level presentations.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, U.S. Permanent Resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, CFA, MBA, or advanced degree in finance, accounting, or engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong financial modeling fundamentals: 3-statement mechanics, driver-based forecasting, scenario and sensitivity analysis, unit economics.
- Working GAAP foundation sufficient to read the financials, tie forecast to actuals, and partner credibly with accounting on close and accruals.
- Experience with enterprise planning tools (OneStream, Anaplan, Oracle EPM, or equivalent).
- Experience with D365 Finance or another major ERP in an FP&A or operations finance context.
- Experience building or extending automation with AI agents, scripting, or workflow tools beyond off-the-shelf chat interfaces.
- Familiarity with capital-intensive, manufacturing, or aerospace program economics.
Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $104,027.00 - $145,637.10
