About this role

Blue Origin is hiring a Financial Business Partner III - Engines, full-time, on-site in Greater Seattle Area, in the Aerospace sector.

Application close date:
Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

We are looking for a motivated, analytical, and forward-thinking Financial Analyst III to join Blue Origin's Engines business unit. Embedded directly with program, engineering, and operations leadership, you will become a trusted partner who connects financial outcomes to operational decisions, supports process improvements through strategic investment analysis.

Day to day, you will lead cost analysis, variance reporting, and financial modeling to support program decisions across the Engines cost structure, develop metrics that monitor program financial health, and build tools and reports that enable timely and accurate financial management. You will serve as the primary finance partner to the Program Manager, bringing curiosity and a willingness to challenge the status quo asking harder questions, pushing past conventional thinking, and turning insights into action while maintaining the controllership discipline that keeps the financial foundation strong. You will actively apply AI and analytics tools to drive continuous improvement in how the team operates and delivers insights.

To thrive here, you will bring solid financial acumen, strong analytical depth, and a growing command of cost drivers spanning direct materials, labor, and other direct costs. You will apply that foundation to drive product costing, planning, cost reduction initiatives, and financial decision support. Strong attention to detail, the ability to cut through complexity, and a talent for communicating financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences will be key. This is a role with real ownership and real influence, on a team that moves fast, dives deep, and does not settle for good enough.

Passion for our mission and vision is required. Ability to work full-time on-site in Kent, Washington is required, and relocation assistance will be provided.

Responsibilities:

- Own and maintain the Engines Product Cost Structure, establishing cost accounting frameworks that ensure accurate, consistent, and audit-ready financial reporting
- Serve as an embedded financial partner within the Engines program team present in reviews, fluent in program priorities, and engaged as a trusted advisor who shapes decisions rather than simply supports them
- Build, maintain, and evolve financial models to support cost-benefit analysis, scenario and sensitivity planning, and risk and opportunity identification delivering actionable insights that drive resource, cost, and schedule decisions
- Analyze actuals against budget and forecast, providing clear variance explanations and proactively identifying, tracking, and escalating program-level financial risks and cost-saving opportunities
- Serve as the finance partner to supply chain, keeping procurement commitments captured, tracked, and aligned to program budgets
- Support annual and multi-year financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and end-of-month deliverables navigating rapid change and evolving priorities with sound judgment and a bias for action
- Establish and continuously monitor operating and financial metrics that drive program performance, accountability, and strategic decision-making
- Design and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and recurring reporting that enable self-service, surface key performance drivers, and reduce manual effort

- Leverage data mining and advanced analytics across multiple platforms (Databricks, SQL, Python) to deliver high-impact business insights and KPI reporting
- Develop and present executive-level materials for program, financial, and operations reviews that shape and influence key business decisions
- Champion the optimization of Finance tools and processes, actively integrating AI and analytics capabilities to increase speed, accuracy, and efficiency
- Flex across cross-functional finance projects and strategic initiatives, adapting quickly as business priorities evolve

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or another highly analytical field
- 5+ years of experience in program finance controls, operations finance, FP&A, corporate finance, or a closely related analytical role
- Structured analytical depth with a challenger mindset able to define ambiguous questions, test assumptions, reconcile conflicting data, and independently deliver credible, business-moving insights
- Proven experience partnering cross-functionally with business teams to support financial targets and deliverables in ambiguous, evolving environments: defining the question, sourcing the data, and delivering a credible answer
- Strong financial modeling fundamentals, including driver-based forecasting, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and clear linkage between assumptions and outputs
- Working SQL fluency: able to write your own queries against a modern data platform (Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent)
- Expert-level proficiency in your analytics tool of choice (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent) for building dashboards and analyses stakeholders use
- Working GAAP foundation sufficient to read the financials, tie forecast to actuals and partner credibly with accounting on close, accruals, and reconciliations
- High integrity, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach with strong organizational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, present financial information clearly to varied audiences, and build lasting relationships that earn trust and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with enterprise planning tools such as Deltek Costpoint, OneStream, Databricks or an equivalent platform
- Experience with D365 Finance or another major ERP in an FP&A, program finance, or operations finance context
- Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or industrial environments
- Demonstrated experience building or extending automation beyond off-the-shelf chat interfaces, using AI agents, scripting, or workflow tools in a professional or project context, with attention to output validation and controls
- CPA, CFA, MBA, or advanced analytical degree in finance, accounting, or engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $104,027.00 - $145,637.10
