Groton Deckplate Detail Planner

Overview

Electric Boat – Groton shipyard is seeking Deckplate Planners who are ready to work in a fast paced production environment performing planning functions in support of Groton Operations departments. The Planning organization offers exciting opportunities for individuals seeking a long term career path at Electric Boat. Candidates must be highly motivated, self-starters who are detail and task oriented and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and interface with multiple organizations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Development & maintenance of Work Instructions using Teamcenter & PCM/EWP

Incorporation of design changes (CRs/CNs),LOA revisions, problem sheets, work transfers, etc.

Adherence to planning processes & procedures

Collaboration with peers and supervision for the development of new processes and procedures

Executing department goals related to quality and attainment

Monitoring construction schedules

Performing tactical problem solving

Collaboration with internal & external stakeholders

Problem resolution

Collaboration with the Operations, Ships Management, and Production Control Planning customers

This position is 100% on site and is located in Groton, CT

Qualifications

Required:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

2+ years of experience in Trade, shipyard, military, planning/ production control, design, inventory, scheduling, customer service, logistics

Experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, & Word

Preferred:

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree

Experience in Planning, Operations (trades), Engineering, Design, or Program Office

Knowledge of the following business systems: Teamcenter, NX, ARTEMIS, PCM/EWP MRP, & JCALS

Proficiency in NX/ Teamcenter
