This role is a unique opportunity for an individual contributor to operate as the primary engineering interface to the construction team for a major module on a first‑in‑class submarine. Module Leads are trusted technical leaders who integrate engineering, operations, planning, and test organizations to ensure construction success.

Module Leads serve as the engineering liaison to the trades for their assigned module. They identify liabilities, drive timely resolution, coordinate support across engineering disciplines, and advocate for minimal impact to construction schedules. They provide clear, concise technical communication during shipyard meetings, ensuring accurate status, clear priorities, and actionable guidance for the deckplates. Module Leads rapidly develop a deep understanding of shipyard procedures, enabling them to guide trades and engineering through complex construction challenges.

In this role, engineers coordinate multidisciplinary teams, assess risk, and define the engineering path forward for current, emerging, and future issues related to module construction and major evolutions. This is a highly visible, impactful position that directly supports the ship’s progression through final assembly, outfitting, test, and delivery.

Responsibilities Include:

Providing engineering oversight for emergent shipyard issues and communicating technical assessments directly with shipyard leadership and trade management.

Supporting trades daily by helping them interpret disclosures, navigate work packages, and understand the build sequence to ensure efficient and accurate execution.

Ensuring drawing revisions, CR/CN actions, and other changes supporting construction are properly prioritized and progressing through both construction support and cognizant engineering teams.

Attending and contributing to key production meetings—daily startup, plan‑of‑the‑day, shift turnover—by reporting holdups, defining required actions, and driving resolution of work package, material, and engineering direction issues.

Operating in a project‑focused capacity to communicate technical risk, align engineering resources, and facilitate seamless integration between Engineering and the shipyard.

Conducting multidisciplinary engineering evaluations to support manufacturing, outfitting, and construction needs across the module.

Supporting testing, certification activities, and government inspection events by preparing engineering responses and coordinating required technical support.
