This role combines Level 1 and Level 2 user support with hands-on administration of endpoints, identity services, servers, and cloud and on-premises systems.

You will be a first point of contact for employee IT requests and an escalation point for more complex issues. You will also help keep our environment secure, available, and well documented through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot workstation, operating system, application, peripheral, identity, network, and infrastructure problems; escalate complex issues when needed.
  • Administer and maintain IT systems across on-premises and cloud environments, including servers, core services, and business-critical systems.
  • Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and identity services to provide secure and reliable access to company resources.
  • Set up, provision, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and update software, including Microsoft 365, VPN clients, and security applications.
  • Support core infrastructure services such as Active Directory, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including patching, backups, upgrades, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Assist with endpoint management, software deployment, and device standards.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures, user guides, asset inventories, and knowledge base content.
  • Help employees use IT systems effectively and follow good security practices.
  • Support security and compliance efforts by applying hardening standards, responding to operational findings, and assisting with audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with IT colleagues and vendors on infrastructure issues, system upgrades, and other IT projects.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, systems administration, or a related role.
  • Experience supporting Windows and macOS environments.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, user and permission management, and endpoint support.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, subnets, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity, and endpoint issues.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Jira, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of patch management, backups, access control, and system security practices.
  • Ability to document procedures and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments that include on-premises systems and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with endpoint and mobile device management tools such as Microsoft Intune, Jamf, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with virtualization, backup, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
  • Experience with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Bash, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience in defense, manufacturing, aerospace, or another regulated environment.
