Elliot G. (Lee) Sander has been named President and CEO of Cubic Transportation Systems

Cubic Transportation Systems Mobility Infrastructure Hiring Signal October 5, 2026

Lee knows what it means to be accountable for a transit system. He served as Executive Director and CEO of New York’s MTA and Commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation. In the private sector, he led Bombardier Transportation Americas and built AECOM’s global transportation business.

He also knows CTS firsthand. Since joining as an advisor in August 2025 and becoming Executive Chairman in June, Lee has worked closely with our teams and customers and gained a clear view of our programs and priorities.

That experience will guide him as he leads CTS in delivering on our commitments, strengthening customer relationships and supporting systems that millions of people depend on every day.

Please join us in congratulating Lee on his new role.

Why this matters for talent

Naming Elliot Sander, former head of New York's MTA, as President and CEO signals Cubic Transportation Systems is leaning into transit agency relationships and large scale fare and transportation system contracts. The jobs board lists 60 openings at the company, and leadership changes with this kind of public transit background often precede renewed bids for transit agency contracts and associated technical hiring. Candidates interested in transit fare systems should watch for contract wins following this appointment.
