Axios House: Energy, climate and innovation take center stage
Energy is taking center stage in nearly every conversation about America's future. For good reason, as AI and industry scale up, so does the demand for reliable, homegrown power.
Last week at Axios House, our founder and CEO JB Straubel joined policymakers and industry leaders to talk about what's next for the grid. JB is optimistic: yes, today's grid is strained, but the microgrids and distributed energy resources coming online now will increasingly connect back into it and expand the resources available to all of us.
This is the battery ecosystem we're building at Redwood. We're taking a domestic supply of energy storage materials, power electronics, software and the operational capabilities so the U.S. can scale clean, reliable power without depending on foreign supply chains.
American energy dominance isn't just about producing more it's about building smarter, more resilient systems. That's the work we're focused on.

Why this matters for talent
Redwood Materials' founder and CEO discussed the strained state of the US power grid and the company's role building domestic battery and energy storage supply chains at Axios House. This is a policy visibility story rather than a direct hiring one, but Redwood's continued positioning around grid and energy storage infrastructure is worth tracking. The company carries more than 119 open roles on the board.
