Technology’s role in driving UK growth was central to techUK’s activity at Labour Party Conference 2026 in Liverpool
Our team took part in 74 events over three days, more than double last year, speaking or chairing at 27 and hosting six sessions to bring industry and policymakers together.
At our members-only Economy 2030 session, around 50 senior leaders from across our membership heard from our Deputy CEO Antony Walker and Kanishka Narayan MP, Minister for AI, on how technology can drive growth across every part of the UK.
The session also marked the launch of Economy 2030: An Agenda for Tech-Enabled Growth, which sets out actions for government to implement between now and the end of this Parliament to improve productivity, support investment and prepare the British economy for the 2030s.

Our three open panels at Delhi House, Albert Dock, addressed practical priorities for the UK’s growth agenda, including a session featuring Lisa Johnson of Starship Technologies.
Why this matters for talent
A conference recap post from techUK naming Starship Technologies as a panel participant on autonomous transport policy in the UK. Starship Technologies is not currently on this board, so there is no roles count to report here, but the company's continued presence in UK policy conversations is worth tracking for anyone targeting the autonomous delivery space there.
