Third Wave Automation Industrial Autonomy Update October 6, 2026

Our CTO and co-founder Ben Burchfiel is heading to Tulip Interfaces’ Operations Calling in Somerville. He’ll share a little about how Walden got started and how we’re building robots that learn on the job.

Ben will also join Les Karpas of NVIDIA, Dave McMorran of Litmus and Arshan Poursohi of Third Wave Automation for a Physical AI panel, with Rony Kubat moderating. They’ll compare notes on getting these technologies to work together on a production line.

Thanks to the Tulip team for having us. Come find Ben if you’re attending!

Why this matters for talent

A conference appearance by the CTO is a visibility and recruiting event more than a product announcement. Third Wave Automation lists 2 openings on the jobs board, a small but real presence, and talks like this one are often used to attract engineering candidates informally. Candidates interested in warehouse robotics with a learning on the job angle should take note of the company's public talks as a research signal.
